"Waiting on" Wednesday: Sweet Reckoning

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly post hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine which showcases books we can’t wait to get our hands on.
What I'm waiting on this week...

Sweet Recking (Sweet Evil #3) by Wendy Higgins
Publication Date: April 29, 2014

It’s time.

Evil is running rampant and sweet Anna Whitt is its target. Nobody knows when or how the Dukes will strike, but Anna and her Nephilim allies will do anything necessary to rid the earth of the demons and their oppressive ways.

The stakes are higher than ever, and Anna is determined that the love she feels will be her strength, not a liability. But trying to protect the ones she loves while running for her life and battling demonic forces proves to be perilous—especially as faces are changing and trust is fleeting. When the Duke of Lust sends Anna’s great love, Kaidan Rowe, to work against her, Anna must decide how much she’s prepared to risk.

In the most sensual and fast-paced installment yet, Sweet Reckoning brings all the beloved Neph together one last time to fight for their freedom.

Can we just take a moment to reflect on how beautiful that male on the cover is? By far the best cover of the series. BY FAR. And I just loved the previous books so much, I don't know how I'm going to be able to handle waiting for this one for the next couple of months!

By the way, I found out a little while ago that the author lives like... twenty minutes away from my house. AWESOME RIGHT? Not that I'm going to start stalking her or anything, but I might actually.

Stacking the Shelves #8

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by  Tynga's Reviews! This meme showcases the books received, bought, or checked out from the library over the past week.

I have a problem. When I see books on discount, I can't help but buy them. These are the ones I got over the past few weeks since my last update. I swear, my TBR is getting a little unmanageable at this point. I rarely ever add ebooks to this also, so this isn't even accounting for those.

My library had a book sale yesterday, so naturally, I had to go and buy some of it. I spent $4 on two popular paperbacks and the rest were Amazon, B&N, or were ARCs I was sent. I spent a lot of money on this stuff. I'm actually starting to worry. Though I doubt any efforts to restrain myself will work. Ever.

The faction-based society that Tris Prior once believed in is shattered—fractured by violence and power struggles and scarred by loss and betrayal. So when offered a chance to explore the world past the limits she’s known, Tris is ready. Perhaps beyond the fence, she and Tobias will find a simple new life together, free from complicated lies, tangled loyalties, and painful memories.

But Tris’s new reality is even more alarming than the one she left behind. Old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless. Explosive new truths change the hearts of those she loves. And once again, Tris must battle to comprehend the complexities of human nature—and of herself—while facing impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice, and love.

Told from a riveting dual perspective, Allegiant, by #1 New York Times best-selling author Veronica Roth, brings the Divergent series to a powerful conclusion while revealing the secrets of the dystopian world that has captivated millions of readers in Divergent and Insurgent.
