Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly post hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine which showcases books we can’t wait to get our hands on.
What I'm waiting on this week...

The Truth About You and Me
Publication Date: September 8, 2013
The Truth About You and Me by Amanda Grace
Madelyn Hawkins is super smart. At sixteen, she's so gifted that she can attend college through a special program at her high school. On her first day, she meets Bennet. He's cute, funny, and kind. He understands Madelyn and what she's endured - and missed out on - in order to excel academically and please her parents. Now, for the first time in her life, she's falling in love.
There's only one problem. Bennet is Madelyn's college professor, and he thinks she's eighteen - because she hasn't told him the truth.
The story of their forbidden romance is told in letters that Madelyn writes to Bennet - both a heart-searing ode to their ill-fated love and an apology.

I'm pretty sure the first time I saw this was on NetGalley and I thought, "Oh. It's going to be another one of those books, is it?" But I was somehow drawn in, intrigued. Maybe I'm just a sucker for forbidden romances. Seriously, just toss me the summary for one and I'm convinced I need to read the whole book. The cover's kind of pretty also, right? Kind of subdued and peaceful, but in a good way. The only thing I'm not sure I'll like is that "told in letters" business. I'd prefer dialogue and description. I'm still super excited for this, despite that though! I can't wait!

"Waiting on" Wednesday: Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly post hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine which showcases books we can’t wait to get our hands on.
What I'm waiting on this week...

Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea (Between, #1)
Publication Date: August 15, 2013

Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea by April Genevieve Tucholke

You stop fearing the devil when you’re holding his hand…

Nothing much exciting rolls through Violet White’s sleepy, seaside town…until River West comes along. River rents the guesthouse behind Violet’s crumbling estate, and as eerie, grim things start to happen, Violet begins to wonder about the boy living in her backyard. Is River just a crooked-smiling liar with pretty eyes and a mysterious past? Or could he be something more? Violet’s grandmother always warned her about the Devil, but she never said he could be a dark-haired boy who takes naps in the sun, who likes coffee, who kisses you in a cemetery...who makes you want to kiss back. Violet’s already so knee-deep in love, she can’t see straight. And that’s just how River likes it.

Blending faded decadence and the thrilling dread of gothic horror, April Genevieve Tucholke weaves a dreamy, twisting contemporary romance, as gorgeously told as it is terrifying—a debut to watch. (via Goodreads)

I've seen Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea on almost all the blogs that I've visited recently. I swear, everywhere I look, I see a countdown widget or WoW for this. I understand why so many people are interested though. This is my favorite flavor of the paranormal romance genre! The summary sounds utterly PERFECT. And just look at that cover! I think I'm in love with that font. And that cliff. And that ocean. And those skinny toothpick trees. And those people. It looks amazing!

What happens when you're stalked by Death? You fall in love with him, of course.

Pagan Moore doesn't cheat Death, but instead, falls in love with him.

Seventeen year old Pagan Moore has seen souls her entire life. Once she realized the strangers she often saw walking through walls were not visible to anyone else, she started ignoring them. If she didn't let them know she could see them, then they left her alone. Until she stepped out of her car the first day of school and saw an incredibly sexy guy lounging on a picnic table, watching her with an amused smirk on his face. Problem is, she knows he's dead.

Not only does he not go away when she ignores him, but he does something none of the others have ever done. He speaks. Pagan is fascinated by the soul. What she doesn't realize is that her appointed time to die is drawing near and the wickedly beautiful soul she is falling in love with is not a soul at all.

He is Death and he's about to break all the rules. (via Goodreads)
